Our signature craft

Venetian Plaster & Specialty Finishes

Decorative wall finishes for accent areas, fireplaces and feature walls — built through layered, hands-on work rather than a standard repaint. We prepare a sample first, so you can review the texture, tone and direction before it goes on your wall.

Why preparation matters

Most of what makes a paint job look right is finished before the first coat of color — and most of it stays out of sight. A surface that is filled, sanded, spot-primed and masked takes paint cleanly and evenly. One that is simply painted over telegraphs every old flaw.

Walkthrough & written proposal

We assess the rooms, surfaces and scope, then put the agreed work in writing before the job begins.

Preparation

We fill, sand, prime and mask carefully, because the final coat only looks as good as the surface underneath.

Painting

Professional-grade products, primarily Benjamin Moore (Sherwin-Williams or equivalent when appropriate), clean lines, and the right number of coats.

Final walkthrough

We review every room with you before the job is done.

Frequently asked questions

Are estimates free?

Yes. Initial estimates are usually free within our normal Long Island service area. If a project needs extra visits, sample work or travel outside that area, we discuss any additional cost in advance.

Can you give an estimate from photos?

Photos help us give a rough idea for simple projects, such as one room or cabinet work. Final pricing always depends on the full scope and, when needed, an on-site review.

Are the owners involved in the work?

Yes. B&J is owner-led. An owner is involved from the estimate through the key stages of the project, with the work handled by the owners and a regular, supervised crew.

Do you work in occupied homes?

Yes. We regularly work in occupied homes. Before starting, we agree on access, work areas, protection, pets, children and daily clean-up.

What makes your work different from a basic repaint?

A better paint job starts before the paint. We focus on preparation, protection, clean lines, the right products and a finish level that matches the surface and the result you expect.

What do you specialize in?

Residential interior painting, selective exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, deck staining and refinishing, and specialty finishes such as Venetian-style and textured plaster.
